- One-file backups. Settings, unsaved notes and the knowledge base in one file, with an optional password.
- Tips window that introduces features, with pictures.
- Ubuntu support. Download the .deb and install it on Ubuntu 22.04 or later.
- Open email files in Jotwai: .eml and Outlook .msg, read-only. Pictures from the web stay blocked until you choose to show them, attachments can be saved, and an email can be turned into a note.
- Plans keep your own columns. Columns added outside Jotwai are shown, and any column can be hidden or shown.

- Pictures in unsaved notes. Add pictures straight away, and export Markdown with the pictures embedded in a single file.
- Full-window viewer for diagrams and pictures, with zoom and next/previous.
- Easier table editing. Arrow keys move between cells, and cells take line breaks and pictures.

- Outline shows the headings of a Markdown or HTML document, and jumps to one when you click it.
- Mermaid diagrams in PDF and Word come out as pictures in the exported file.
Earlier
Jotwai has been developed and used for real work since mid-2026. Core features such as live preview, PDF and Word export, pasting web content as Markdown, Gantt plans and Quick Capture all date from that time.
